The process of custom wire drawing. Wire drawing is a metal working process used to reduce the cross-section of the wire. The wire is pulled through a dice or several dies to reduce it to the required diameter. Wire drawing is a simple process is normally performed at room temperatures. However, the process can be performed at higher temperatures for large wires to reduce forces. The wire is prepared by hammering or shrinking it to fit through the die. It is then pulled through the die to decrease its diameter. Pulling the wire through the die also increase its length. In custom drawing wires, the wire is reduced to the size that is needed. This is achieved by pulling the wire through successive smaller dies to reach the required size. This process can be done in small scale using a draw plate or on a large scale using automated machine.
